


John Lewis, Ph.D. is a Licensed Psychologist with offices in Santa Barbara and Ventura, California. In addition to his psychotherapy practice, he specializes in forensic psychology and organizational consultation.
Dr. Lewis completed his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at George Mason University in 1995. After working for two years in an outpatient mental health clinic, he joined the Psychology Department of the Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center, a maximum security psychiatric institute in Jessup, Maryland. Working with patients experiencing a broad range of psychiatric disorders, he assessed competence to stand trial, criminal responsibility, malingering, risk for future violence and sexual violence risk. He was qualified as an expert witness in several Maryland jurisdictions. Promoted to Chief of Psychology, he coordinated psychological services throughout the hospital and managed a staff of seven doctoral level psychologists.
Dr. Lewis is licensed as a psychologist in both California and Virginia, and he is credentialed with the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. He maintains membership in the American Psychological Association, the California Psychological Association and the Santa Barbara County Psychological Association.
